Default zdz50ng plug cap

today, on my zdz50ng after 100's of flights, the plug rotated out and came out in flight. plug was still attached to the cap, and after cleaning
off some residue from plug and inside of cap..i noticed that there does not seem to be a spring or anything positive inside to push against the plug when attaching the cap back on. Is there suppose to be some sort of spring or movement inside the cap for this..?? This engine has seen almost 2 years of service, and this is the very first time it has ever quit on me. I seems harder to start now..and I could only get a short fire out of it.

Default RE: zdz50ng plug cap

Yes, there is supposed to be a spring inside the cap that makes contact with the top of the plug.
The plugs must be checked for tightness every so often to insure they do not loosen. Spec for dry plug threads is 15ft/lbs.
It sounds like you need a new replacement ignition. Please send it in for us to evaluate first, if you wish.
Thanks,
